Sonu Nigam ATTACKED By MLA’s Son: Singer Files FIR Against Man Who Caused Brawl- READ BELOW
Swapnil Phatarpekar, son of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) MLA Prakash Phatarpekar was booked by Chembur Police on Tuesday for wrongful restraint and voluntarily causing hurt to Sonu Nigam’s teammate.

The complaint was filed after Phatarpekar allegedly pushed Nigam’s teammates from the staircase of the stage during an event.

The alleged incident conspired at the Chembur Gymkhana on Monday night as Phatarpekar allegedly pushed two of the singer’s friends from the staircase of the stage where Nigam was performing during a music festival at Mumbai’s Chembur area.

A video of the incident has gone viral on the internet and it features Nigam and others coming down the stage as a few abruptly pushed them, and one of them fell down from the stage on the side.

The police took cognizance of the complaint and had booked the MLA’s son for the same.

Hemraj Rajput, deputy commissioner of the police (DCP) said that the incident conspired after Sonu Nigam’s performance. He was quoted saying that Phatarpekar approached Nigam after the singer and his team tried to come down from the stage and the singer’s team tried to stop Phatarpekar but he allegedly pushed two persons who are identified as Rabbani Khan and Hari Prasad, both friends of Nigam’s.

As per the reports, Khan sustained an injury on his shoulder and was immediately rushed to the hospital. Following the incident, Nigam along with a few friends visited the police station around 1:30 am on Tuesday and registered a complaint about the incident.

“We have registered a case under sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 337 (causing hurt to any person by doing any act so rashly or negligently as to endanger human life or the personal safety of others), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code against Swapnil,” DCP Rajput said.

A Hindustan Times report suggests that Phatarpekar will be called to the police station and action will be taken against him, said DCP Hemraj Rajput.
